Tahun ini, rata-rata dalam sebulan saya baca 3-4 buku. Jumlah yang jauh lebih sedikit dibanding waktu kuliah dan waktu masih agak muda dulu (ehem!), tapi jumlah yang sedikit meningkat dibanding tahun lalu. Faktor yang sangat berpengaruh dalam membaca rupanya adalah keputusan saya untuk lebih banyak menggunakan transportasi publik tahun ini. Susah ‘kan, baca buku waktu naik ojek?

Tentu saja karena saya semakin menjadi penganut reading while commuting, akhirnya 95% buku yang saya baca adalah yang bisa saya baca di gawai. Sejauh ini pilihan saya masih di Kindle. Kalau tidak membawa perangkat Kindle, maka saya membaca lewat aplikasinya. Toh progress membaca masih bisa di-sync. Sementara untuk membeli buku di PlayStore, sudah cukup beberapa kali di beberapa tahun lalu. Layout buku yang dijual di PlayStore kurang ramah buat mata dan preferensi penglihatan saya.

Masih seperti ‘tradisi’, atau mungkin lebih tepat disebut kebiasaan ya, saya membaca tidak melihat tahun terbit buku itu. Malah lebih banyak buku-buku yang saya baca terbitan dari beberapa tahun yang lalu, atau beberapa dekade yang lampau. Kalau saya baca sinopsisnya dan saya tertarik untuk membacanya, maka saya pasti akan beli.

Dan inilah beberapa buku yang berkesan buat saya, tanpa perlu saya ulas, karena kutipan dari buku-buku inilah yang paling membekas:

1. “The Rainbow Comes and Goes” – Anderson Cooper

Kutipan:
